Premier League games always offer us extra opportunities following on from an International week and that's certainly the way I'm reading the upcoming fixtures.
First up for me is a lay of Manchester United at Goodison Park. This is one game that Wayne Rooney doesn't need right now and the atmosphere is going to be intimidating to say the least! Everton have a poor record against United in this clash over the years but they did win 3-1 last term and I really believe David Moyes has assembled a cracking squad inspite of their indifferent start. There are some games where even the top sides will be happy to leave with a point and this is one of them for Fergie's men who will surely be feeling the effects of a tough week. Take the Red Devils on at 1.92!
If Spurs are going to be any good this season they will have to be doing the business against teams like West Bromwich Albion on a regular basis. It's vital that Harry Redknapp and his team put the debacle against Wigan behind them and a win against the Baggies is an ideal way to do that. Spurs have some injury problems and an eye on next weeks Champions League opener which only adds to the test. This game will tell us a lot about the credentials of the North London outfit and I'm prepared to give them the benefit. Back Spurs at 2.2 on the "Daq".
I'm afraid you'll have to wait until Monday night for my final bargain and one that is a confident selection. Stoke City and Aston Villa take each other on in a Midlands derby that is certain to be tense, edgy and physical for all sorts of obvious reasons. The Potters have had a dismal start to the campaign and Tony Pulis was by far the most active manager as the transfer deadline approached. That smells of a little bit of panic for me and means his men will be desperate to get anything out of this game. Villa meanwhile will be looking to impress new boss Gerard Houllier with a gritty display that bears no resemblance to their gutless failure at Newcastle. This all adds up to a tough Miidfield battle with an emphasis on set pieces and discipline and means that I am under 2.5 goals all day long. The Betdaq market is trading around 1.7 at the moment and I suggest you make the layers pay for offering that price for us to back!
