IRELAND'S EYE
It was left to Tony McCoy and Adams Island (11/4-2/1) to ensure we maintained our recent fine run when delivering the former pointer to a clear cut success in a maiden hurdle at Newbury yesterday while saver Presenting Forever (5-9/2) only found one too good in a competitive handicap chase at Doncaster. In our back up service our second choice Giles Cross (6/4) returned to winning ways in a novice chase at Chepstow and another second choice Majaales (4-7/2) only went down narrowly in a Newbury handicap hurdle.
Jack frost threatens to prove a spoiler today with three competitive meetings in England and a Fairyhouse card in serious doubt. However Cheltenham, Doncaster and Uttoxeter can still to go ahead as i scribble and there but we will concentrate on Ireland instead where a former point winning mare is taken to land her second Park success in an open looking novice for the fair sex.
Kieran Purcells 7yo Duartin can provide the solution to the 2m 4f hc hurdle at Fairyhouse at 2-40 on ground which suits and though he is unproven over the trip the style of his staying on second to the progressive mare Kylebeg Krystle over 2m 2f at Punchestown ten days ago on his seasonal bow. A winner of a Tralee heavy ground bumper the daughter of Second Empire also finished runner up to the useful Copper Bleu in a bumper subsequently and his penultimate run when just going down to Bar The Rest over 2m 3f at Cork last April entitles him to the utmost respect here. Though he is now 11lbs higher in the ratings he does have the assistance of the capable 7lb claimer Joe Burns to held and he can deliver at the ninth try over hurdles and his fifth handicap run. Course and distance scorer Glendine Lady looks the main danger. She started a well supported second market choice here about three months ago when holding on to beat the favourite Florimund (levels) by a length and a half in a slowish time on heavy. She meets the last named on 5lbs better terms here. Another to consider is the former point runner up Manger Management from the in form Rothwell yard who should appreciate the 1/2m step up in distance here off a low weight on his second handicap start having finished a reasonable fourth over the minimum trip at punchestown a month ago.
2007 Dromahane point winner Kind Oscar has added a Punchestown mares maiden hurdle to her resume last year and the lightly raced Ian Hannon trained mare can register at the second try over fences in the extended 2m 5f mares chase at Fairyhouse today at 3-45. Though the 99 rated hurdler meets more highly rated hurdlers here she boast point to point experience and jumped well when taking a fair fourth to Moscova (gave 19lbs) in a Clonmel Grade 3 mares chase on her chase debut some 10 weeks ago. Seven pound claimer Dinny Spillane who guided her to her sole Park victory again takes the reins on the nine year old and she can score from bumper and dual hurdle scorer Oligarth Society who is fitted with blinkers for the first time having posted a modest fifth placing on effectively her chase debut almost two months ago. If the aids have the desired effect the Denis Cullen trained 7yo would pose the main danger to the selection but the 126 rated hurdler Shuil Aris from the Paul Nolan yard probably rates the main threat as the 9yo seems to have returned to something near her best following a lengthy absence and her close second placing to Cara Mara over two miles and four on her chase debut at Fairyhouse on her second start back gives the Sean Flanagan ridden mare decent prospects of adding to her debut bumper win in 2006.
2-05 CHELTENHAM – 2m 5f hc chase
PRIVATE BE tend to find one too good on most occasions but Phillip Hobbs charge is given a tentative vote to land this good pot at the expense of Exmoor Ranger and The Sawyer here.
2-50 DONCASTER – 3m ½ novice hurdle
With the Greatrex team in fine form at present it could pay to side with their representative STRATEGIC APPROACH and the Noel Fehily ridden 8yo can beat the ex decent staying chaser Possol and the useful flat winner The Betchworth Kid.

We are now recording the daily profit and loss of Ireland's Eye to help readers gauge the current form of the service. We will provide the profit / loss on the previous day to a £1 level stake on each selection (eg: a 5 point bet = a £5 stake). In the interests of consistency the profit / loss will be recorded at SP prices, however BETDAQ users can reasonably expect to beat SP in the majority of races.
Wednesday's Return was: LOSS 14.68 points
