GOLD-DUST DAYS: Here’s a review of the Betdaq formula you can expect as he starts out on year three, daring as ever in his attempts at big-odds winners and hot-pot losers. Here’s the Daqman approach in detail, with new ways to bet, as he looks for gold-dust days.. Make value – particularly Betdaq value – the watchword and look for ways of adding a bonus. That’s my year-three insurance plan for positive punting, starting this week. Recently I had a successful run of laying favourites which failed to reach the frame, so I’m looking out for some place lays in particular races, noted over the years as a graveyard for the hot-pots. From the same research, I’m reversing the coin and putting up favourites to win from races which particularly favour in-running bets on short-priced horses, giving Betdaq backers an advantage over SP. I’m also studying ‘the horses and stables that backers leave alone,’ with offers far bigger than they should be early doors. So value seeking will look like this: EARLY DOORS: Horses at the ‘wrong’ prices in the morning, whether too big or too short, and how to deal with them. IN-RUNNING: My studies show that some winning favourites are better priced in running because of their style of racing or the shape of the race in question. Of course, my bets will be accounted at SP so I won’t win the bonus money, but you will. JACKPOT BETS: I shall step up my ‘quick killing’ bets where I try to win 50 (or even 100 points) in one go. DOUBLE BONUS BIG-RACE BETS: This is where horses are backed at value prices with built-in-bonus stakes. If you price up a horse at 8-1 to win 100 points you need a stake of 12.5 to get the return you want. If you find that the horse is actually on offer on Betdaq at 11.0, don’t reduce your stake: keep the original stake (now 12.5 x 10) and get a bonus 25%. LAYING THE FAVOURITES: I shall continue to lay favourites, particularly where I think a bet against them will give you your bank for the rest of the day’s punting. In other words, I’m looking for ‘gold-dust days.’ GOLD-DUST DAYS: So gold-dust days are where we hope to pay for big punts on long-odds offers by laying a favourite to cover our stakes. PLACE LAYS: We’ll add place lays to our arsenal when the horse or the race justifies it. DOUBLE WHAMMY That’s been one of the most successful bets, where I lay the favourite and back something to beat it in the same race. NAPS: Best bets of the day will be naps – we had eight in a row recently – unless I have enough confidence for maximum stakes. BANKERS (10pts maximum stakes). My run of 10 winning bankers out of 11 has stood for too long now. We’ve got to try and beat it. It’s the right time of year to say it: look out for fireworks! POINTS: Remember ‘points’ are units of whatever stake you choose. If you bet in pounds, 10pts win is a tenner; if you bet £10 a point, 10pts win is £100 and so on.
